I graduated from law school in 1968. I was a law clerk with the Arizona Supreme Court. I became a Maricopa County prosecutor in 1970. I was elected to the Superior Court as a judge in 1974. I served for 7 years. In 1981, I was appointed by President Ronald Reagan to serve as United States Attorney. I served from 1981-1985 when I resigned and went into private law practice. I remain an active attorney in Arizona. I have been a lawyer for 51 years. I have been married twice. My wife is Cindy McDonald. I have 5 children, 3 stepchildren, 20 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
